Precocious would be a weak word to define Kristin Prim. At fourteen, she founded Prim Magazine, making her the youngest print magazine editor worldwide. Apart from being an editor at seventeen, Kristin is also a maker of patterns of worship and well respected by streetstyle photographers. We meet with the girl that stirs our curiosity.
Q: Do you also consider yourself a blogger?
Absolutely! I never considered myself an editor, blogger, or any word that is limiting like that. I consider myself a collaborator. When I sit down to create an issue I am collaborating with over two hundred creatives; when I blog, I am collaborating with some of my favorite designers to create a definite look. Especially with my upcoming personal projects which have to do more with my style and me individually rather than the magazine or blog, I will be collaborating in the truer, more common sense of the word. I don't believe in only holding one job; everyone is so multi-talented and I think that should be shown.
Q: When did you first fall in love with fashion? Why is fashion so important for you?
I first became seriously interested in fashion around the age of thirteen simply because of its outright beauty. Fashion is, essentially, a form of expression and I don't think expression should have any boundaries.
Q: How was PRIM born?
When I was thirteen years old I told my parents I wanted to begin my own publication. They gave me the money to start it up and by the age of fourteen my first issue was released. I then worked with over a hundred creatives to curate the first issue and it grew into what it was.
